To the Zervas Community:

Thank you for your interest in the Zervas Elementary School Design and Construction Project.

The next regular project construction update meeting will be on MARCH 9th at 7:00PM, followed by the regular WAC meeting at 7:30PM. Note: The meetings noted above will be at the Waban Area Library Center which is located at 1608 Beacon Street in Newton. For your reference, a flyer with construction updates and images has been posted to this website under the ‘agendas’ tab.

Since the last update, here is a quick progress update of construction development. Overall, the project is making great progress and is on schedule. Exterior work is almost complete. Masonry, window and storefront installation are done and metal panel installation ongoing. Window testing began last week and is ongoing. Rooftop units were delivered, installed and are operational. In terms of interior construction progress, MEP/FP system rough-in system installation is ongoing throughout and is approximately 94% complete. All stairs (A, B and C) have been installed. Interior drywall is 100% complete on all floors with taping nearly complete as well. Ceiling grid, light fixtures, paint and tile installation activities are all ongoing. Tack board, marker board and classroom casework units were delivered and installation is ongoing.
